I had a very small leak on my tube. The first time I tried to apply this patch it did not hold at all - despite me following the instructions in the kit. I subsequently watched the YouTube video Park Tool has posted which provides much more detail on how to correctly apply the patch. Namely, the video emphasizes completely deflating the tube before applying the patch, leaving intact the wrapper that surrounds the patch (to remove stress on the edges of the patch) and then re-inserting the tube into the tire before inflating. After following these instructions so far so good - after ~3 long mountain bike rides post patch it has held up well and I have no issues.

I've purchased 5 of these Park tool vp-1 patch kits over the past year, from 3 different suppliers. None of the patch kits will make a lasting repair to a bicycle inner tube. I have followed the included directions to the letter and on every occasion, the patch will peel up from the edges and start leaking. The adhesive glue that comes in these kits is weak and inferior to other products I have used. When it first happened, I just assumed I had gotten an old kit with expired glue, but after trying several different kits from multiple suppliers, it is my belief that glue is too weak or not compatible with the included patches. These repair kits are not of the usual Park Tool quality and I cannot recommend them. A repair on the trail with these may get you back home, but will eventually start leaking.Read full review

great product. I put two in my cart and should have looked to find their 2 pack which was cheaper than what I paid.

Nice patch kit to carry with you when you are out riding the trails. Small enough to put in your pocket.

It has everything you need to repair a flat. It's easy to use. Just don't forget to bring a pair of tire levers and a pump.

Avoid the stick-on patches whenever possible. They MIGHT work in a pinch to get you home... but you also might make it a mile then have to stop to blow the tube up again. I always recommend the park patches. It takes 2-3 minutes to set the patch and allow the glue to dry enough to keep from sticking to your tire, but I have about a 95% success rate with stopping leaks with these guys. Very permanent - more durable than the tube itself.

It works as expected. The vulcanizing gel dried up faster than I expected. In the video they asked to wait a while. I thought it will take a while to. But so far so good. I did ride out and air still holding. So I'm happy. $6 may be a little much for a pair or stickers. But overall the package is well done and can be used for later too.

They sure work better with the tube of adhesive. other dry type seem to slip and leak air.

Patches were fresh stock however glue didn’t hold well, but about as good as other brands… so it’s probably just me.

I think it serves the purpose, however with this money you get 5 times the amount provided in this micro glue tube. Not sure, why in USA everything needs to be 5 times more expensive than the rest of the world, just because people make significantly more money than 98% of the rest of the planet.
