Brochure says you can connect battery to the controller but this is not true. It’s a great product but would be much improved if it incorporated a battery hookup potential. Also the older version had a long cable. Now virtually every installation will need a cable splice as it’s very short. Even so it’s a great product which is why I bought a second one
