Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2016 im Fachbereich Soziologie - Kinder und Jugend, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In der folgenden Arbeit moechte ich gezielt der Frage nachgehen, inwiefern die Schule ein Einflussfaktor bezuglich der depressiven Erkrankungen bei Jugendlichen ist. In den letzten Jahren scheinen die Leistungsanforderungen und der Druck im deutschen Schulsystem immer mehr gestiegen zu sein. Schuler sehen sich schon in der Grundschule grossen Herausforderungen gegenubergestellt und mussen fruh lernen, selbst Verantwortung zu ubernehmen, da auch die Eltern haufig wenig Zeit haben. Doch stellt die Schule nur einen Risikofaktor dar oder kann Schule auch einen Beitrag zum Schutz vor Depression leisten? Um eine Antwort auf diese Frage geben zu koennen, moechte ich zunachst auf die Merkmale und Erscheinungsformen der Depression eingehen, um einen Eindruck dieses Krankheitsbildes zu vermitteln. Danach werde ich einige epidemiologische Fakten aufzeigen, die in Bezug auf das Jugendalter relevant sind und den Verlauf der Krankheit genauer darstellen. Da die Jugend eine besondere Lebensphase mit eigenen Herausforderungen ist, werde ich diese anhand des Konzeptes der Entwicklungsaufgaben genauer thematisieren. Durch den Erklarungsansatz des multifaktoriellen Entstehungsmodells sollen anschliessend die Ursachen und Einflussfaktoren beschrieben werden, die eine Depression begunstigen koennen. Im zweiten Teil meiner Arbeit werde ich genauer auf den Faktor Schule eingehen, der gerade in der Jugendphase eine wichtige Sozialisationsinstanz darstellt. Dazu stelle ich die Aufgaben und Funktionen der Institution dar und untersuche, inwieweit diese die psychische Gesundheit der Jugendlichen beeinflussen koennen. Abschliessend werde ich in meinem Fazit eine Antwort auf meine leitende Fragestellung geben.
