I bought this set because I'm desperate to lose weight and I have heard of so many women having lost a ton of pounds with her walking tapes. These are the first videos of Leslie that I have ever bought. I do like it, but with some alterations. Before buying a Leslie Sansone tape I would suggest buying Teresa Tapp's "Step Away the Inches". That way you can maximize your movements and lose even more inches if you still choose to use Leslie Sansone videos. Warning: sometimes Leslie Sansone does get a little sloppy with moving so fast, but overall its a good tape, especially if you walk T-tapp style.
This is a three pak vhs consisting of 1,2 & 3 mile workouts plus a stretchie. I have only tried the 2 mile walk and have to say I am disappointed in it. The music is totally unmotivating, some kind of techno stuff, and there seems to be much less cameraderie between Leslie and her walkers. Normally, there are definite walking speeds between warm-up and the actual program levels, but here I kept waiting for the music to bump up from the warm-up. It never did. It was confusing that all of a sudden you're into the brisk part of the program without the music changing. I also didn't think the stretchie was utilized enough. She needs to incorporate more stretchie moves with her walking. I didn't feel I was getting any upper body strength training with it. I have used other Leslie Sansone tapes & really loved them. Too bad this one's, a dud.Read full review
This was my first experience with indoor walking, and I was so pleasantly surprised I ordered the set for family members I hope to motivate into exercising. Though Leslie's constant banter/laughing is annoying at times, these tapes encourage you to get moving, and I look forward to the walks. I love incorporating the "stretchie band" for upper body into the routine for variety. I use these videos on days I need a break from more strenuous target toning/strength training. This set is one of my favorites!
I am in charge of a walking program, to motivate folks in our community to form walking clubs to improve their health. Our agency is piloting the tapes and we have found numerous benefits: a great 30 minute workout over the lunch hour, more energy in the afternoon, trimmer waistlines and fun camaraderie. The Stretchie bands add to the intensity of the upper body work out so it's a balanced approach to health. The 3-pack is terrific for the various levels of walkers; they can chose from 15 or 30 or 45 minute work-outs. Leslie Sansone is an inspiration and easy to follow.
I bought these tapes because I can fit them in at any time of the day--rain or shine! I like the idea of having ones to choose from depending on how much time I have to put into exercise that day. I was a little disappointed that Leslie doesn't use the "stretchy band" more during the work-outs. I've not seen other tapes using the band, so I don't know if that is typical. Also, if you're looking for "catchy" music you won't want these tapes.
