    Get Back

Good show from McCartneys first band line up after Wings-Robbie McCantosh (who was also The Preteders guitarist for a few years) rips on guitar! He is an excellent player. I personally feel Paul's currant band is the best ever but if you want something old & for your collection I would buy it, you won't be disappointed-

    Sir Paul, What Happened???

This dvd is entertaining to watch but a torture on the ears to listen to. I had this on vhs tape when it first came out and I'd noticed the tempo of the songs tended to drag a bit and some of the audience cheers and applause often didn't sound quite right. I thought perhaps the tape had stretched from too many rewinds so I had tossed it out several years ago when Sir Paul's "Back In The USA" tour came out on dvd. With the re-issue of his "Flowers In The Dirt" cd I thought I'd get the "Get Back" concert on dvd since it featured many of the songs from "Flowers...". Sadly as I watched the dvd it was painfully apparent by the second number that the songs were too slow. After checking random songs throughout the concert program with my guitar in hand I discovered that the whole concert had ...

  • 1991 Sir Paul McCartney's Magical Music Tour on DVD

From the Beatles' 1960's original rock music through McCartney's own 1991 original musical scores & lyrics, this full screen DVD is a historical treasure. McCartney's first beloved & deceased wife, Linda, is at the keyboard which makes this musical DVD extra special since the multi-talented photographer has long since died of breast cancer. Parts of the musical DVD were shot in Rio de Janeiro, recording the largest sell out crowd ever, up to then, of 184,368. It is McCartney's first world tour in 13 years, since 1978. At 49 yo, the former Beatle exudes more energy than most younger musicians, reclaiming his space in Rock infamy. His mix of songs from Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, of the acid tripping days, to Let it Be, to Get Back, to the Long and Winding Road, to When I Saw ...

  • Great concert, great songs

For me, a great mix of classic songs and McCartney's voice is great. And, it's really great to see Linda as well. My only disappointment is that the original recording (video and sound) is not that great tech wise, but hey, it was released in 1991? With that, don't expect high def nor surround sound. BUT, definitely good to have in one's Beatles Library!

  • Sir Paul's Amazing Stamina to Sustain Stage Charisma

When we lost John Lennon prematurely, it seemed like the sound of the Beatles would be diminished over time. But Sir Paul McCartney stayed on the course of being true to the legendary rock group even as he went he own way with Wings. On this film of his tour, it's easy to understand why, even now, when he's in his late 60's, the charisma once known as being that of the Beatles has stayed with Sir Paul. I keep thinking of the words to the song, "boy, you've got to carry that weight, carry that weight a long time...." because that's what is evident in this film. The heavy weight of the huge iconoclastic stardom of the young men from Liverpool has been carried all these years by Sir Paul, just like a knight should.
