Luther Allison is a fine blues artist. As a testament, he is the only blues artist ever to be recorded on the Motown label, which is, of course, predominately Soul/R&B. He was younger, I believe, than most of the artists being recorded in that genre in that era. His style is a little more bluesrock on some of the tracks. His guitar tone is more reminiscent of, say, Jimi Hendrix. Just his tone, mind you, as nobody will ever touch the great Jimi. A fine album, well worth having in your collection.

A fine, fine example of electric Chicago blues. It is soulful and passionate, with urgent and raw vocals. The guitar is an attack, driving and so heart felt. The engineering of the album captures all of this, and the artist seems to be driven and enjoying the ride. Have listened to " Little Red Rooster" over and over. No filler, very highly recommended. RIP Luther Allison
