The cut and thrust world of trade in the 1850's on the high seas.
No expence spared on the sailing ships. The sets were excellent as were the actors and their costumes. The script was always engaging and forthright. It was difficult to stop watching the stories unfold. It is a pity there is no break in the running on the video disc. It runs for three hours non stop. Perhaps a break once an hour would be handy to relieve the stress of the great story. After all these years the production still has a magnetism. Well done. No expence spared on the sailing ships. An excellent show that has lasted test of time. Characters and locations make it worth a look. Nothing i can think of today covers this period or the business of sailing/trading like this does.
