I was and still am a fan of the old WWF games ranging from the biginning to this last one. #1 WWF Super Wrestlemania Sega Genesis Not the SNES version cause No Signature Moves!!! Why Why why!!!! Sid and Hogan and Natural Disasters but no Powerbomb, no Leg Drop big boot no Avalanche no Eearthquake smash. #2 WWF Royal Rumble SNES & Sega Genesis #3 WWF Rage in the Cage Sega CD #4 WWF Raw Genesis, SNES and Sega 32x The older games had a uniqueness to each game but the all played the same. As a fan I liked these games the best because the NES Wrestling games just didn't have it. These games have IT. Meaning Finishing Moves/Signature Moves. Finally you can pick your wrestler and do his special move. Now all the games above were quite the same but with new updated rosters so there's no real difference in game play with the exception of more moves, more arenas and different wrestlers. But back to this game:: I say if you like all those games above pre Raw 32x, then you can't go wrong with this one. For me, I just like to have all of them. I mean Raw Snes, Raw Genesis and the 32x version. But lets go back in time a little. When I first got my hands on one of those games it was WWF Super Wrestlemanis for SNES. I was overjoyed with excitement because Hulk Hogan, Sid Viscous, The Road Warriors and the Natural Disasters was in it. But after playing it I found that you can't do their special moves!!!!! What a drag that was. Then I seen that the game of the same name came out for Sega Genesis. WWF Super Wrestlemania. It had the Ultimate Warrior and Papa Shango!!!! I disregaurded it for a long time cause I figured eh, no special moves. But the Genesis version did let you use their Signature Moves I found out later but that was after WWF Royal Rumble had come out. After playing WWF Royal Rumble at a friends I was hooked. Same great graphics and move lists and mechanics as Super Wrestlemania but man was it better. So a year later I see another friend has the one on Sega Genesis. I've been Playing the Royal Rumble SNES version but it's missing Hogan!! Then I see the Genesis has Hogan and you can do the Leg Drop!!!!! Wanted both!!! Finally after some years got both then here Cones WWF Raw 32x. I bought the one on SNES cause by then for me SNES was winning the Graphics race. So my buddy who has the Genesis version tells me to come over to see his Genesis Raw. I didn't see anything different from mine but less color and less smoothness. So it seemed we lost the old comparisons with Raw it seemed. No more extra characters no more differences just the same game ported to my two warrior consoles the SNES and the Genesis. But finally I seen it was coming to the 32X!!! The Sega 32x!!! Ooh I wondered what might be different with this latest one? So never got to play it until now!!! Sucks for me because this is the last game of it's type.. Raw 32x is an end to an era. An era where the 16 bit wrestling games captured my imagination and fulfilled much enjoyment. So what does this last blast from the past bring that the SNES and Genesis lose out on? Bigger sprites it seems. More color, special Pins and some extra play modes like Survivor Series mode. So with one last shot in the 16 bit era, the 32x version whooped up on the competition in my eyes. This version is the best version and added a little of what the SNES and Genesis was missing which the prior games had,, differences. The 32x version does bring back the old, more moves and Qwang.Read full review
Well when you pop Raw into the 32x you seem like hey this seems framiliar. Let me tell you why you should think so. First of wen you wrestle u get almost the exect charecters models from the last WWF game, Royal Rumble. Great game. Same fighting style and music for the most part. Graphicly its not impressive I think the 32x coulda been a little better. On the flip side you get a new charecter selection screen and a new secret wrestler. The best part you can't even play as him, but im a wrestling fan and a video game fan and id like to have atleast one game for one of my system and that was it. Pick it up.
