Based on Stevia being a low carb sweetner i expected the desserts to be low carb. Several of these recipes were over 40 carbs per serving ! Lots were over 20 - 25 carbs. No low carb dieter could consider that a low carb option. In comparison to a regular sugar dessert yes these can be considered lower carb`but I was expecting good options for someone who has to stay low carb. This is an ok book for someone who is wanting to simply decrease their carb intake some but not for some who truly needs to follow a LOW carb lifestyle. In fairness, there were a few low carb ( under 5) pudding/jello or icing recipes. Neufchatel cream cheese was used as well as stevia extract ...neither are available locally but then I live in a small town.

For health reasons I switched to Stevia several months ago. Now I won't use regular sugar or substitutes and this book helps you to incorporate Stevia into desserts so you don't feel like you are missing a thing. I wish more people were aware of this product. Fantastic!
I am trying to cut sugar out of my diet. So I decided to buy this book so I could still have "sweet stuff" without the sugar. I think this will be a great alternative to all the sugar.
