These are VERY light weight. But, they are mostly made of metal (thin stainless steel). Even the claws have metal inside the plastic that extends to the end of the curve. Should work better than the cheaper plastic ones. Thank you

This grabber allows a strong grip on items based on hand strength. The pole is strong & the cups meet to allow picking up the smallest items. The drawsbacks are that the cups are slippery which causes some items to fall out of the jaws. The cups could be modified with rubber or rubber bands to make them tackier & adhere to items better for more lifting power. The only other drawback is that the jaws rotate too easily making rmanual realignment constantly necessary..It can be taped.This grabber allows a strong grip on items based on hand strength. The pole is strong & the cups meet to allow picking up the smallest items. The drawsbacks are that the cups are slippery which causes some items to fall out of the jaws. Too heavy & doesn't grip
I hate this grabber. I'm physically challenged so I need it to help me in the kitchen. I'm so disappointed because it's significantly heavier than the one I have & it doesn't grip anything. The one I already had is much lighter & even though the grips don't open as wide, I find it much more useful because I can actually grab things with it. Every item I tried to grip with this grabber, the grips just slide off. The most I can do with it is knock the items down with the grabber & then use the grabber to sort of drag the items to me. Regrettably, this was a waste of money for me.I hate this grabber. I'm physically challenged so I need it to help me in the kitchen. Somewhat heavy duty
I say somewhat heavy duty, because it cannot lock into place if you turn the jaws horizontal and the handle vertical and vice versa, There are others that have that capability. Therefore, something heavy could cause it to spin in certain maneuvers, and if it's an open container you could spill its contents. Other than that it is a worthwhile and sturdy grabber that I will keep and use. Heavier than the cheaply made ones, but worth every penny!
My boyfriend's a paraplegic who needs the extra reach sometimes, so he needs a reacher he can count on! This is the one! Solidly constructed! There was one catch... upon inspecting the item before I gave it to him, the nut, which attaches to the threaded rod inside to make it open and close, came off. I could no longer operate the product. Instead of sending it back, I decided, since it has screws in the handle to make it easy to disassemble, that I would repair it myself! Awesome choice! It was simple!
