Und die Unsterblichkeit? Davon, eine Spur zu hinterlassen, träumen (auf wahrscheinlich sehr unterschiedliche Weise) alle vier - doch Gott sei Dank gibt es da noch den Autor, der seinen Figuren und also dieser Geschichte manchmal so hilfreich in den Arm fällt, daß uns der lebenskluge und wunderbar leicht erzählte Roman vorkommt, als wär's ein Stück von uns.
