    So good I bought them three times!

    These are awesome in every sense of the word. I have owned a very wide range of headphones and could be considered a collector. Current pairs include: HD580, HD650, HD599, DT880 Pro, DT770 80 ohm, AKG K712 Pro, Philips SHP9500, Fostex T50RP Mk3. Running a Schiit Modi Multibit DAC and a Schiit Asgard 2 amp. My first somewhat Hi-Fi headphones were the HD598s years ago. They were very underwhelming for me at the time, and I sold them for some more exciting Beyerdynamic headphones. Over time my tastes got more refined and I revisited the HD598 in its newer brother, the HD599. I LOVED them instantly, and going back to the 598s borrowed from a friend, finally loved those too.     For the right scenario... absolutely perfect! Beautiful sound, incredibly comfortable, stylish.

    I've gone through so many headphones over the last decade from $300 noise cancelling in-ear bose to budget skullcandy, to countless apple and apple knock-offs, airpods, 4 different wireless (RF & blutooth) headphones for watching tv, at least a dozen budget airline sets, 2 athletic blutooth sets and 3 different gaming/speaker headsets... these Sennheiser's are by far my favorite of any I've ever purchased and the first where I was 100% happy about the purchase. They are not an "earphone quiver killer".. they wouldn't be great for sports or even walking around (at least for me.. too bulky for my style), but they give me the best sound quality I've ever heard in headphones without making my ears tired or feeling any pressure.     Just buy them. Take this review with a grain of salt please

    Ok so I am fairly new to being an audiophile. My ears are most used to my FIIO Fh3's and my Beyerdynamic DT770's. So far these are an amazing pair of open backs, and surprisingly have a satisfying amount of bass for an open back. If you're a bass head you will be happy with these. Mids are clear, and well defined. Treble is very nice and crispy almost sparkly in some scenarios. Soundstage is amazing like most open backs are. It's very weird having this wide of a feel while still having thumpy bass. Build quality is pretty decent kinda cheap feeling in some areas. The cables are definitely cheap point of these headphones, very coily and have a memory. Overall though these are a great set of cans. Definitely holding on to these for a long time

    Great value for a mid-range pair of cans.

    Very comfortable. Broad sound stage. Bass is a little punchy. Not the lightest cans but the earpads and the headband are very well padded so wearing it all day (WFH with hours long teleconference) is no problem. Needs an amp or a decent sound card to bring out the details. Regular laptops and their docking stations probably will not do.

    These headphones surprised me on their level of comfort and sound profile. I have the x58 headphones and love them. That said the 599HD have a sound signature that is very warm and inviting and alive. It is as if you are listening to your favorite play list cozyed up by the fire looking outside on a cold and snowy day listing to all the ritch sounds coming from this head set, beautiful. Love them!
