    The item arrived on time but it was obvious it had been repackaged by state of the box On opening the package the item was sticky and partly assembled with other parts loose in the box. On emptying the box it became obvious a part was missing and I had a part from another type of gate. I contacted the seller who stated he did not check what was in the box, I sent a picture of the parts I had and explained what was missing he was unable to sourse the part and advised me to return the gate.

    No time for a full extensive report I am afraid but I just could do no right with this buyer despite my best efforts. Damaged box captured on description. I also messaged buyer to let her know about this. Buyer makes all sorts of claims on top of part allegedly missing. Free returns are still not good enough. Not sure what I could have done differently.

    Excellent DIY or professional accessory.

    I had a Black and Decker bench for 18 years. It never let me down and used it till it’s time was up. I had absolutely no problem replacing it with the same brand and have to say that I’m pleased that the features remain virtually the same albeit with a slightly modern twist. It provides a great stable platform and has a robust but relatively light to carry construction. I delighted with it.

    Disappointed

    I ready have a vintage Workmate but bought this new model to supplement that and specifically to support a shop made router table top. It performs this latter task reasonably well facilitated by the 3 position moveable jaw which provides enough room for the router to hang through. In other respects the new Workmate is very disappointing because generally the construction is under-engineered. The top is too thin and bends under light pressure so I intend to bond a supplementary layer of plywood to this to improve the overall stiffness. The handles for operating the vice have too much play, are made from soft plastic and have a very sloppy feel - I anticipate that they will fail prematurely, time will tell. Compared with the steadfast feel of my old Workmate the new model is wobbly and ...

    A good solid base for many jobs

    My old Black and Decker Workmate has served me well for over 40 years. I lent it to my son some time ago and found I had a job that needed the support of a workbench. Rather than demand the return of my old one, which my son has used a lot, I decided to get a new one. It has a couple of improvements, like the one-handed tightening of the vice jaws, and it feels as solid as the old one did. I'm very pleased with it :-)

    Quality workbench

    These work benches are very adaptable, robust, excellent quality and very good value from this seller. This is the second workbench I have owned by B&D, the first one has been in use for over 10 years and is still being used daily down in my allotment shed. Instead of carrying it back and forth I have decide to treat myself to a new one for my home workshop. I did look at other makes/models but nothing touches the B & D workmate Plus for value and versatility. You won't go wrong if you decide to invest in one.

    New Big bolder

    this is my 2nd work mate had the 1st 30 years this one looks to be of the same sturdy construction. the one thing that could be improved is the assembly instruction, i am a maintanance engineer , and I had one before and still found the instructions lacking. it was only when I finished did I realise the wing nut thing was a spanner other than that I expect to get 30 years out of this item
