This is a great book but I would strongly recommend buying the updated version. this one from 2005 recommends different strategies and is missing valuable information such as the appendix. The newest version is totally different and much better.

Thought provoking method
I think there is a lot of merit to considering his approach. Praise is likely something "difficult" children get little of, so it is insightful to use it in this constructive way. Some of his imagery is very helpful (i.e. the Kodak moments). I followed up and ordered his book for teachers since it would be helpful to use in a classroom.
