    Work resurrecting

One of these made a great media player in my car with the addition if an airplay server. It runs El Capitan great. I recommend at least 4g though if you are running the new OS. For less that a couple hundred bucks you can get into a fully functioning and reliable Mac.

  • Great inexpensive media server for an Apple household!

These old Mac minis are really affordable and still very capable! If you're looking for an inexpensive way to get something for "Home Sharing" with a household full of Apple products this is hard to beat! Still plenty fast enough for most general use. Not a huge power consumer, and compact enough to fit in the Entertainment furniture discreetly. I have mine reading media off a 2TB NAS drive and it works like a champ! Downloaded all of my itunes media to host locally instead of streaming for faster performance. As well as making my entire library of family photos/movies available on the Apple TV.

  • Cheap and still works after being nearly a decade old (2009 - 2017)

After upgrading from 2gb ram to 8gb ram, this mac runs almost flawlessly. There are occasional slowdowns when opening and shifting between applications but otherwise everything works great. You definitely need to upgrade the ram if it is 2gb or lower. When trying to use this mac with 2gb of ram it was laggy and slow and barely usable on the latest version of mac os x.

  • Good

My first mac. Works well. Just can't get updates from Apple store because operating system is too old. Found a hack to install some stuff. Over all, a good deal.

  • Great little TV box

Got this to connect to TV for Netflix etc. Ssd makes it fast! Great value. Can't upgrade os past El capitan, but if that becomes a problem, will just install linux- elementary os.
