Okay for the price.
It was very simple to install because it was designed to fit the Kato locomotive which has a built-in speaker enclosure. There is a third (red) led which lights the ditch lights when the locomotive is pushing backwards. No mention of this in the instructions, I presume this is for the Metra loco. The sound quality is not great, there is audible hiss at all speed settings including off! The sound track is for a freight locomotive, not the F40PH I'm familiar with. I'd recommend the (twice as expensive) Lok Sound decoder over this.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
