The Sony CCD-F55 video camera is a part of the Handycam line and is an eight mm camcorder. Sony created the Handycam line to provide a small, lightweight option that amateur videographers could find quite useful for everyday recording. That means that this Sony camcorder includes a number of automatic features for ease of use. The Sony camcorder makes use of eight mm cassettes, which are small cassettes that can be transferred to DVD or to a computer. The eight mm camcorder includes an 8x optical zoom lens with built-in autofocus. The Sony camcorder also features a flip out 2.7-inch display screen that can be tilted to various angles. Further features of the eight mm camcorder include a built-in microphone, a telescoping viewfinder with rubberized eyepiece, and push-button controls. The Sony CCD-F55 video camera is designed with a hand strap to allow for single-handed recording. The Sony camcorder comes in a sleek, black finish.
