The blades are not sharp at all. It takes some time just to cut a drywall hole. The plastic thing that catches the dust is flimsy and really only lasted one cut out. No way a person that cuts these types of holes for recessed lights all the time would use this product.

This is a good quality item, but there are two issues. Number one be VERY careful when tightening the drill bit in the chuck. The blades are razor sharp and you cannot hold the bit by hand without bad results. Use wrenches only. Also the plastic shield works great for holding in the dust and debris, but can leave a mark on the ceiling around the hole if it spins too much. Not an issue if you are painting after but adjust the depth of the hole as you drill carefully so as to minimize the spin. If you cut a bit and see where you are at, it seems to work very well.
