Gamers of all ages can develop their vocal talent and compete online against other warblers in SingStar. This musical import from Europe is the sixth release of the SingStar franchise and the first game of the series to be available on PS3. Players sing along to the designated song and by monitoring timing and pitch the game offers feedback for the singer. SingStar is compatible with the EyeToy and the PSP, allowing gamers to input their image into the game and transfer saved performances to the hand held platform using a memory stick. <br><br>The initial release features access to over 300 downloadable songs including songs from the previous editions of the game, and comes with microphones designed to emulate the same equipment used by professional artists. By creating a profile, gamers gain access to an online community and the ability to upload performances, snapshots, scores, and audio feedback. Periodically the game will alert players to new songs that are available, as well as additional skins and graphical effects. There is a fee for downloading extra music and adults can limit spending by adjusting the parental control settings.

SingStar Pop Game for PS2
This is a fun way to spend some time with your family.It is great entertainment,suitable for all ages,and is perfect for a diversion.Some of the songs are a bit odd to sing along to(SOS!!!) while others are awesome fun.There is something here for almost every age group though.Most songs are familiar from the radio and can be learned if you don't know them too well.it is easy to play but in some cases difficult to master some of the songs.I would recommend any of the SingStar games-our family has all four now and we love them.The one thing Singstar could add is unlockables...there is nothing secret,hidden ,or earned if you get SingStar rating on some or even all of the songs.A reward for totally mastering a song would be nice!!But,overall an excellent game, espcially for the casual ... Not too shabby!
I purchased this game for my 9 year old daughter figuring it would be full of pop songs she knows. There are a couple that she knows and quite a few that I know, but there are some pretty obscure songs (in my opinion) on the game that I don't know that too many people are going to know or maybe it just wasn't my era. Overall, I would have to say this game is very good. We also have SingStar 80's as well as SingStar 90's. We absolutely LOVE those two games. The Pop was an addition to the ones we have and I'd love to get a couple of more. It's a great way to hang with your kids and spend the afternoon with them doing something they want to do and have a terrific time doing it.I purchased this game for my 9 year old daughter figuring it would be full of pop songs she knows. Pretty Good
Pros: It is kinda addicting, especially when you play it with friends. Cons: What I don't like about the game that even though it has some the "top chart music" that it doesn't seem that current maybe it was because I was expecting like TRL top chart list instead of top list of like 30 different stations and such. ALso they have like one song for like each cd. Like The Killers would be like "somebody told me" and that's it, but I heard you can unlock other songs but I haven't played it long enough to do it. Great Game, TONS of fun!!!
I really like this game. It has a muck better track list than SingStar Rocks!. The game is tons of fun but I still have a few quirks with it. The original vocal volume can't be turned all the way down (so if you are good enough you can't hear your beautiful voice). And y second problem is that the mics seem pretty low quality. You would expect that with their professional look and thick cables, you may be able to get clear sound, but that is not the case. Although it is good enough to play, I'm just saying you cant use them to professionally record yourself. GREAT GAME, I am definitely planning on buying more from this series!I really like this game. This is a fantastically fun way to spend a weekend with your family or friends! Watch/listen to each other as you compete to become the 'singstar' of each song. I have owned one for about 3 weeks now and it has brought many hours of entertainment to my entire family! My 3 year old loves it too and he's learning many of the songs included in the CD! Definately worth the investment! Great for parties or just when you're bored!This is a fantastically fun way to spend a weekend with your family or friends!
