The manual in disc format was very easy to install on my computer and is a complete service manual covering all aspects of the X324. Took some searching to find some things I was trying to find. It contains all electrical, mechanical, and parts list for all repairs and gives step by step instructions for each repair. I was very pleased also that it arrived in the timeframe I was promised.

The John Deere technical CD provides the user with a single 1004 page PDF file. The paper manual from John Deere is large, heavy, and cost $180. A PDF is a much smarter way to go. The user can print out just the pages needed. Searching can be a bit of a challenge. There is no single index. The manual also covers way more than the average owner needs because it includes information on every version of the X324 (38", 42", 48", and 54" deck) from tearing down the engine and transmission, to the more routine, such as changing belts. If you do need the deep info, this is the place to go. It is the same manual used by service tech's at the John Deere service centers.
