The Nokia E70 is a technically adept smart phone, but it's most unique characteristic might well be its gullwing keyboard. Initially, the phone looks like a typical "candy bar" phone, but half the keyboard slides out to one side of the screen and the other half slides out the other way, making the device look, very roughly, like a bird on the wing. But beyond this surprisingly useful feature, the Nokia E70 is a very full-featured device that will appeal to both individual and business users. In particular, it is one of the most connective phones I've seen, with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and cellular data support. It has a 16-million-color display of 352-by-416-pixel resolution, ensuring that even the smaller screen is able to show a substantial amount of information. This is the ultimate smartphone for the masses.Read full review
Very easy to use. Graphics resolution is excellent. First time I have used email on a 'pull' basis and it has prooved to be really useful and very easy to set up. Have some software clitches with the phone. It doesn't always start up with the screen running, appears to be OK after switching on for the second time. Battery hold time is about average. Camera is good, but not as good as the Ericsson Cypershot. But then it's a phone! Synchronising software works much better than my previous Nokia phone and it is much faster. Really glad Nokia still do a fold out QWERTY keyboard. Would like to see more phones offering this. Much quicker for sending emails and texts.
For a person, who needs a compact device for making phone calls, reading e-mails and creating simple text documents or spreadsheets, Nokia E70 is a good choice. The phone also has a small camera for taking photos or short videos. I've used my E70 about a couple of years for now. It has been a perfect tool while I've needed to make notes on lectures or elsewhere. This mobile phone has a QWERTY keyboard. Its keys are quite small, but they don't keep clicking noise. For big fingers small keys are always difficult. However, this keyboard doesn't break easily even in a heavy use. With E70 you have two different keyboards to choose: the QWERTY keyboard is hidden inside of the phone and the 'normal' number keyboard is always available below the phone's screen. When you'll need to use the QWERTY keyboard, you just flip it open from the bottom of the phone. It's very simple but of course, if you handle the phone a bit too roughly, it can then get broken. The web browser of Nokia E70 isn't too great. It crashes often with big sites. Therefore I suggest you to install Opera Mini on your E70, if you want to surf on webistes with your mobile phone. It's more stabile browser and works great with a Symbian system. If you don't have to take excellent photos or video, E70 is an ok replacement for an average quality camera. The camera of the phone has no lens cover, so it gets dirty quite easily. On long journeys I used my E70 as a media player. The phone has no FM radio, but it can play mp3 files and certain video files. Its screen is rather small but big enough for 'your own eyes only'. The [new] phone comes with a handsfree kit. You can also listen the media with it. The plug of this kit is pretty strange and it can be a little difficult to use. The plug that connects your mobile phone to your computer is similar, so it might be easier if you'll use bluetooth instead the wires. With basic things, like making calls or sending text messages, E70 is just wonderful. BTW, if you'll constantly need a map, you can download Google maps on your E70. Since this phone has no locator tool included, you'll then need to get a pay monthly contract for mobile internet use from your operator. Nokia E70 is a very nice choice as a multimedia mobile phone. You can do a bit photographing, writing and even short recordings with it. If you don't necessarily need a fancy looking touch screen mobile phone, consider this model instead.Read full review
