This bible is good looking, and is not too heavy. My previous one, which finally fell to bits, was giant print, but weighed a ton. This has large bold print, but is not heavy to carry. I find that some bibles have rather faint print, but this is great. I had thought that the the cross referencing being at the end of the bible verses might be intrusive, but not at all. I find it is much better than having the references in the margin, which is what I was used to. I do miss the ribbon marker, which the packaging said it had, but it was missing, and there were not as many maps as stated on the packaging either. It has quite a good concordance, and I find the synopsis of each book of the bible quite helpful too. For the price I paid, I have no real complaints. This is very good value for money.Read full review
I was brought up on the KJV. About thirty five years ago my pastor agreed to replace it with the NIV in our church. Slowly I have grown more and more disinterested in reading the bible until I stopped reading it altogether and I haven't read it properly in years. Recently I became aware of the reason why the bible had become so unattractive to me. It has ceased to be the Word of God. According to the NIV: *There is no salvation through faith in Jesus Christ. *There is no redemption through the blood of Christ. *Christ is not the Son of God. *Jesus is not the Christ of God nor is He, Lord. *Christ is not interceding for us in heaven. *and so much more has been changed, been omitted or ignored. Satan knows the power of the Word of God so he has tweaked it a little here and a little there until it has lost its power. The KJV has given me back the power of the Gospel of Christ and the proof of the doctrine I believe. **It does not have verses missing. **It is easy to understand **It is the uncensored, preserved, translation from received text. **It is powerful to change lives. ** and its' truth sets people free. **Its' true author is the Holy Spirit. I now avidly read its pages daily. God doesn't make mistakes, he did it right the first time, so why do we need other so called bible version? The KJV stands alone, and by it we will stand or fall at the end of time.Read full review
