Notes
The Electric Sea is the sequel to Buckethead's previous solo CD, Electric Tears (MEE 15), which was released in 2002. The Electric Sea features more of the melodic and atmospheric Buckethead solo guitar virtuosity with multi-layered acoustic and electric guitars washing over you through eleven new songs.

  • Soul beneath the bucket.

The latest release by Mr. BUCKHEAD is a welcome addition to my collection. There probably is no definitive Buckethead record. each CD is different than the others. While he may have a reputation of being a metal guitar shredder, that is only the tip of the iceberg of his talent. This is a release of soulful guitar playing, primarily acoustic guitar instrumental music. He emphasizes tonality on this release. there are no drums, and occasional use of vibrato on the electric guitar parts. The mood he sets is quiet and melancoly. Some of the pieces sound classical in nature. This record will end the dispute that all Bucket can do is Shred metal licks. However, with more recent releases, such as Electric Tears, Shadows Between The Sky, and A Real Diamond In The Rough, he has showcased his ability to play beautifully delicate and sophisticated acoustic/electric music. This album is supposedly a follow-up to 2007's Electric Tears. While it does continue in a similar style, this album is not nearly as "ambient", relying less on atmospherics and more on straight ahead playing. The tracks on here vary; a few are acoustic/electric performances ...
