Casio watches, particularly those that are mid to higher price ranges, are second to none. I have both solar and battery powered Casio watches....extremely durable. I work outdoors, kayak, hike, cut timber, etc.. Haven't had one fail me yet. The SGW-500H-2B is classic in style.....I have a strong preference for analog watch hands. The metal ring on the outside of the watch face adds more class to an already elegant time piece. I find the thermometer and barometric pressures easy to read. NOTE: Really should take your watch off for 5 minutes if you want an extremely accurate temp read. This model suffers a little at night reading. Still....extremely comfortable watch and one of the nicest looking in the sub $50 market. The rubber watch band cleans up easily and does not absorb odors. I get many compliments on the fit and style of this particular wrist watch. I'd recommend this watch to any outdoorsman...but feel its classy enough for office wear too!Read full review

This is a small computer for the wrist. Any watch that requires a manual yo operate is a nightmare. Simply adjusting the time for daylight saving time was impossible. As a watch, its too complex but if you can fathom the complexity, I suppose its great.

I have been working with watches , both buying and selling, for several years.. I ran across one of these that needed a new lens and batteries.. once I fixed it, I fell in love with it... my customer was very pleased.. these are very nice watches, that offer a bit of a twist.. the compass surprisingly works great.. the thermometer works good, but you have to make sure to calibrate these too.. scrolling through the different time zones is fun.. if I ever get to Rio De Janeiro , I can tell you what time it is there... :)

Probably the least expensive of the Japanese quartz, reliable, durable watches, which has analog and a small, but readable digitalreadout at 5 to 7 o'clock. Also, this Casio has both a thermometer AND the compass function! The compass function is a necessity for those of us with little sense of direction. I t can be a lifesaver. My $300+ Casio Pathfinder has the compass function, but this handsome Casio SGW500 provides the same in a good watch...for less than one-third the price. Mia's Watches always ships fast and fair, and is my vigilant go-to watch supplier.
as expected item has the main functions for outdoors - related activities. Its stylish but not to emissive.
