I bought this for a 1999 Squier P/J bass that has a ton of sentimental value to me and wanted to begin using at gigs as a back up bass. The pickup sounded awesome but I had to return it as it was a fraction of a inch too long and wide for my bass and I couldn’t get the cover to latch in place. I was disappointed about it because I thought it would have been the perfect compliment to the 62 vintage p bass pickup I installed to the end of 2019.

My first Fender Bass was in 1963. I still have 4 Fender Bass. If your an bass enthisiast these are as good as it gets! If you get a hum an average line filter will deal with that. I love these as replacements in my older fender bass. If your rich and in a big band you have technicians who can make your pups sound like anything, but for you and me these sound authentic, and back in the day all we had was a bass and an amp! Choose your strings carefully and sensitively and you will have the sound and feel of the 60's. So much better than 66ers! If you want to keep it real keep it Fender '62 Vintage Jazz Pickups ziggy, 57 years a bass player!

I have installed several of the pups in various builds. It's what gave the J-Bass the sound!
