    I have not used the strings yet, however they do not have the usual characteristics that the “Fakes”do. The tie at the end of the string looks right, so so far I have faith they are actual USA made. The black box strings are Black. If these are all real I will continue to buy from them. Its expensive putting Elixirs on 20 guitars. Shipping is way to high.

      I love the hybrid gauge concept.

      Do you like Super Slinky, except for the slightly flabby low E -- especially if you use Drop D tuning? Have you considered moving up to 10s, but you don't want bends to be any more difficult than they already are? If you answered "yes" to either or both of the above, then this is the solution for you! The plain strings are exactly the same as those in a Super Slinky set (9-11-16), while the wound strings are exactly the same as a Regular Slinky set (26-36-46). This tightens up the bass side while leaving the treble side completely unchanged. Note that you WILL need to refresh your setup, and that if you do not, you can expect your action to get quite a lot higher. I had to tighten the truss rod significantly, and set the action and intonation on all six strings (but mostly on the bass ...
