Last Time Around=Gone Too Soon. A band riddled with bad egos and arguments that could have been the American answer to the Beatles (rather than the simeon Orangutans from california, though I appreciated them too ((Monkees)). You can definitely tell who was at the forefront of individuality in each song and also tell which way they would be heading in the future. Furay with his lighthearted country rock, Stephen Stills with his intricate guitar and strong, unique vocals, and Niel Young with his somber and unusual sounding songs and voice melded together in this last album of this band gone too soon and later were the earmarks of their individual efforts. Being a musician for over 44 years that still plays small shows, I can relate to how difficult it is to get along in a group. It could be simple as the individuals should combine for the benefit of the whole, but emotion and hard feelings, and of course over inflated egos, ruin the best efforts. Such was the case of Buffalo Springfield. Memories lost but regained through digital media...We are in the future that we spoke of in those days gone by. Live on children of the 60s and tell stories of the freedoms and heartbreaks we experienced...tell "The Future" what it really was and still is in your memories and hearts. Live On indeed...FOREVER!Read full review
Back in my college days I really enjoyed the Crosby, Stills, and Nash (and Young)music. It was natural to enjoy the Buffalo Springfield as Stills and Young had earlier been members there. When I began my senior year in college, I dubbed it my "last time around" after that album title (no CD's back then), and with the title came a philosophy to enjoy and embrace my last undergraduate year. Fast forward to 2001, when my older son started his senior year at Ohio University, he received his "Last Time Around" CD, with a note explaining its significance. Now, as my younger son began his senior year at Arizona State University, I wanted to continue the tradition, and this time ordered one on-line. Both of my sons have enjoyed the CD and the message that the title carried through the decades, from my college days to theirs. That is why I decided to buy it, and now I need to get myself one.Read full review
An underrated record. Good songs from a great band that was falling apart at the time. The music has aged very well.

I loved Buffalo Springfield Again, I chose it over Cream's Disraeli Gears. There are gems on this album too, though I especially love "Special Care" and "Kind Woman." Messina and Furay did an excellent job piecing together a "last album" from a gone group. CSN and Picking Up The Pieces became essential listening to me. Perhaps the fact that I'd worked as a teamster at the Frieghtliner plant, a bastion of Don Williams and country radio, lead me down the country-rock trail. Anyway, putting it on repeat on cd is wonderful!
