    Best can opener because it cuts the rim, not the flat lid of the can.

    This is the best can opener I've ever owned. It is a "rim-cutting" opener. That is, the cutting wheel is horizontal so it cuts the rim of the can, not the flat part of the can lid. This allows removal of the lid and use of it as a cap on the can. The cut edges of the lid and rim are not at all sharp. The opener has a small pliers-like gripper that lets you pull the lid off of the can after it's cut loose. The other end of the opener has tools that help remove screw-off caps, pry-off bottle caps, and pull pop-top tabs. It's sturdy. This is the second one I own, which I bought for a second home. I think they'll last a lifetime.

    Not what I wanted

    So far I haven't figured out how to use it. A friend who had a son with a mechanical bent has it now to see if her son can tell me how to use it. I can't get it attach to a can.

    Can be hard to find these openers!

    Nice that it opens stuck jar lids. Also great not to have sharp edges on can lids. Gave 1 to my uncle for opening 2 liter bottles also.
