Nur hier ernten Bauern seit der Antike das Harz der Mastix-Pistazienbäume, das Chios einst großen Reichtum bescherte. Pauschaltourismus gibt es bis dato kaum. Wer neben Natur- und Kulturerlebnissen auch Ruhe und Entspannung sucht, ist jedenfalls genau richtig. Und die örtliche Küche mit orientalischem Einschlag sollte man unbedingt probieren.
