    The power supply appears to either be old-stock of Apple replacement units, or a third-party replica. The slight musty smell implies the former. The power supply worked as expected, and the third-party cable worked as expected, and properly supplies the 12 volts that older iPods require for software restores. All-in-all, this device works as expected, and is significantly cheaper than most of the used-stock you can find!
