The two authors, Peter Brukner and Karim Khan, are high-profile sports physicians and academics, both having been heavily involved in the last three Olympic Games and presenting regularly overseas. Professor Brukner was the first non-American Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine and is an inaugural Fellow of the Australian College of Sports Medicine.
