Purchased this to supplement my daughter's 8th grade Life Science course, which is currently only using an online text. The main text, side-bars, and interesting facts add depth and offer different ways for a kid to see how biology is studied "in real life." And the authors write notes to the students, which I think is just fantastic.

  • Top pick for Home school students.

I'm very pleased with the way this book is formated. I would highly suggest it to all students especially those that are home schooled. It does touch on evolution and I know for some that is an issue. I think it would be very simple to skip over that chapter if it were a concern. I haven't found that that theory is taught throughout the book. I feel this book will be a nice prep course for additional science courses, including college biology. I prefer this to apologia biology. I LOVE the other apologia books but felt this offered more content needed for later studies in college.

  • Nice book
