A popular study Bible now available in this enlarged type edition., E. W. Bullinger's exhaustively researched study Bible A direct descendant of the great Swiss reformer, Johann H. Bullinger, E. W. Bullinger was a life-long scholar and writer. He studied at King's College, London, from 1860 through 1861 and was ordained in the Church of England in 1862. In 1867 he was appointed to the position of clerical secretary for the Trinitarian Bible Society, a post he would hold until his death. The Companion Bible by Bullinger was released in six parts, beginning in 1910, and Bullinger's identity as author of the notes and editor was purposely left off the title page. The introduction notes: "To the same end this Bible is not associated with the name of any man; so that its usefulness may neither be influenced nor limited by any such consideration; but that it may commend itself, on its own merits, to the whole English-speaking race." The text of The Companion Bible is the Authorized Version (KJV). Bullinger's notes relied upon many sources from the biblical studies of that era, particularly the emerging archaeological and linguistic discoveries of the late 19th century. Notes within the text of this 2,176 page, one-volume study Bible give valuable insights into the original Greek and Hebrew languages. Alternate translations, explanations of figures of speech, cross-references and an introductory detailed outline of each book and chapter are among the many features which Bible students, pastors, and seminarians will find helpful. Book is as described. Brand New. And it was in its original shrink wrap and beautiful. However, shipping it without any padding and just a plastic waterproof bag did not protect it through the shipping process from some binding and edge of the front and back cover to be pressed in or get dings.

    the best Bible ever printed.

    RATE AND REVIEW The Companion Bible: Enlarged Type Edition, Bullinger, E. W., Very Good Book, the best Bible on the market. If one wants to unlock the mysteries and what the meanings really are, just get one of these and a old Strong's Concordance. I bought the enlarged print because at times my eyes don't always see correctly.

    Excellent Bible!

    This Bible has a lot of appendixes in the back that gives you so much information, I wouldn't be without it. It also has two columns on every page, with the original writings in one column and the other has references and translations of some words and referrals to the appendixes. It will give you so much understanding about what the Bible is really saying, not just interesting stories (which they are.) If you really want to study the Word of God in depth, this will really help you. Also, because it is the original King James version, you can take every single word back to the original languages with the Strong's Concordance.

    This is the best Bible I have ever used. A must have!

    I decided to get more indepth studying the truth of Gods Word. My teacher directed me to this particular Bible and now that I have used it for just a couple of weeks, I can't imagine doing without it. The column with other meanings and uses of words and actual Hebrew and Greek words and meanings is priceless. I always thought there were so many contradictions in the Bible, but now that I am able to go back to the true words and meanings of the divinely inspired prophets the puzzle pieces started falling in place. I would also recommend learning under a fabulous pastor who is broadcoast around the word.     The study bible everyone should have!

    I would say that The Companion Bible is by far the best study bible available! I have used a Thompson Chain Reference Bible for years but wanted something a little more in depth and after a long search found exactly what I needed in the Companion Bible! I did not want a study bible loaded down with a churches doctrine or man's opinion and I was very pleased with this bible. It's taken a while to learn how to use it(it was a bit confusing and over whelming), but with time I'm getting use to using it. I learned to take it verse by verse and not chapter by chapter as I was accustom too. I will recommend it to any bible student and suggest you get the large print edition for easier reading!     5 STARS Better than what I expected

    Just received today, have not read the whole thing yet but it is starting off pretty good................. Actually, it is a real excellent value. Must have for those wishing to grasp a better understanding of the word of the lord. This particular edition is great for those who use glasses to read or are just in need of larger print. This is a larger size hardback, good size to keep on coffee table or next to the couch. Will most likely buy another one and would make an excellent Christmas gifts - Cannot beat the price.
