What a Maglite should be.
Obviously I did not get this for being lightweight. A 6D flashlight is going to be heavy. This is the brightest light Maglite has ever produced. I do like the functions the switch has, and programing feature. The downside for me and also the reason for 4 STARS not 5, is the feel of the switch itself. This has a very sensitive electronic switch. This may not be problem for most but, I like the authority feeling of the early mechanical switches and also the fact that they don't come on unintended. I have not yet had this happen but, the switch does not take hardly any pressure to turn on. That is my only dislike about it. I believe the barrel went through a tolerance change, the batteries don't rattle in it quite like others I have. I did notice that the cap for the batteries has changed to ... I like this light very much so far, really puts the light out on high,I blinded myself by curiosity when I first was playing with it...pun intended. I did not have it pointed straight at my eyes, just to the side in view of the reflector and the LED got me. I will definitely be getting a 3 cell for home that does not require so much run time like I do out in the boonies.

Asked if it’s lightweight the answer is yes considering 6 x D batteries. Usual Maglite durability plus much brighter bulb is excellent. Takes some dexterity to close battery chamber but that leaves a sense of quality and a liquids barrier. Superb item

Finally a decent LED version of this durable flashlight
Love this flashlight, can weigh slightly with the batteries but this adds to the sturdiness and feel of it , but hooked up to a rucksack or Maglite D-Cell belt clip you don't even notice it on your person . Would love better availability in Europe of these Maglite's because its well worth the money.

Great Flashlight
Extremely bright, and also very durable, what a Maglite should be. 6D might be a bit too long for daily use, but feel very save with it when going out at night. Swich mode is simple and useful fro saving battery. Can shift focus faster than former products.

The perfect long walk light
