    Compelling, Romantic

    Well-crafted. Great acting, great story line. Heartwarming, and heart breaking , all at once. If you are a Civil War Buff , and have a romantic side , this would be a good one for you.

    Movie good but disc defective

    Sommersby Reminded Me of True Love

    The ending shocked me. I really do not buy books or movies with sad endings. However, the reason Gere's character was steadfast upon dying with an honor, which cost him his life wrenched my heart and brought back the breathtaking "true love" feeling that does not come very often in a lifetime. Foster's character was, was not a "supporting actress", but displayed her as a leading role as well. Her presents before him, at the end, would have been the most heartbreaking devotion anyone could imagine. I would love every romantic to see this, so I am not divulging much about the movie. Numerous times I have heard too much, then was disappointed when I seen for myself.

    Timeless Love Story

    If you are a fan of historical romance, you shouldn't miss this flick. Just be sure to have a box of kleenex at hand. Wonderful acting, great chemistry and beautiful scenes makes this a keeper. I do not care much for sappy love storys but, I must say, I searched for this one. If your looking for a film that can restore your faith in "man"-kind, you've found it in this one. I rate this movie with a popcorn, soda, 2 boxes of rasinettes. Oh! And don't forget the kleenex. Happy viewing. K.P.

    I love this movie. It is one of my favorites. Richard Gere and Jodie Foster, need I say more. Finding and losing love and how sometimes living a lie is better then the truth. And who has ever wanted to change your life and just become someone totally different. The movie is sweet romantic and endearing. Although the movie ends horribly and you don't quite get that happily ever after, as the old saying goes it is better to have loved and lost then to never have loved at all. A wonderful tale told beautifully.
