This particular Boston digipak is very rare, being as it was never supposed to be released. The record company remastered the cd with bonus tracks and got it set for release; Tom Scholz heard about it and wasn't happy about not being involved, so the record company decided to let him remaster it, and shelved the plans to release the digipak with bonus tracks. But somehow, copies of the digipak got shipped to Canada and the stores that got them started to sell them. The record company got wind of the mistake, and had them pulled off the shelves...but a few got sold before that happened, hence the rarity of this particular Mark Wilder remastered release. Scholz's remaster has been released, with no bonus tracks, which makes it easy to differentiate between the two.
I've always loved that album anyway, so much that in 1977 when at the beach after high school, the guys in the apartment below, chided me about how I was playing it EVERY morning. Here I am 40 years later at 59, still loving it. I wanted to try Tom's new remastered version and it was worth every penny, as far as I'm concerned. How is it different? I DON'T CARE!! I can't tell such things without an A/B comparison, but to any fan, I'd say it's worth the price of admission and as a few other fans said (in my search to figure out whether I should try it), it is worth it - at least it was to me. And that's just one more vote from one more fan...

I'm always skeptical when it comes to remastered versions, but listening to this in sonic purity made me feel like I was in an old "Maxell Cassette Tape" poster from back in the '80's. You know the one, the guy is sitting in a chair with his hair flying straight back! :o) I was caught off-guard on this CD. The sound, the purity in the music sent me hurdling backwards through the years to the late '70's, to a much happier time in my life. So enjoy Boston in it's purest, memory invoking sound to date. Sit down and grab a beer. You're really gonna enjoy this ride!
Digitally remastered by the founder of Boston,Tom Scholz in his own studio. Best sounding Disc I've ever owned👍👍

This music is some of the best. So ahead of its time ... take a group like AC/DC the songs will carry their weight forever. Boston has that same lasting feel to it that will never die.

All that needs to be said it that I have heard every song multiple times on the radio. How many albums can make that claim.

Bring back old memories. The sound quality is excellent. And does not have that change over like the old 8-tracks between tracks.
