Great, easy to use camera. Very happy with the photo quality. Has all the features I need plus some. Purchased to replace my other Kodak Easyshare which was over 15 years old.(I've dropped it a few times too many or I'd still be using it). Kodak Easyshare has proven to be a durable, long lasting camera at a very reasonable price.

SO easy to use, a third grader could learn to use it in about 15 minutes. I'm glad I don't have to worry about charging a battery. Since I don't mind buying AA batteries, there's no waiting for a charge to complete. Photos are remarkably clear, no matter what distance I take the picture in. I like the anti-blur and auto features. Though I'm finding using the auto feature pretty much takes care of all ways of taking photos. This is my second Kodak digital camera. Both cameras took great photos, even though the pixels are small compared to current digital cameras. I'd have to be a photo expert or professional to know the difference. This is definitely a nice camera to buy a child or novice person, and there are quite a few of these for sale on Ebay at a very reasonable price.

Every now and then, the electronics engineering world gets something right, at a price the general public can afford and that item becomes a classic. Such is the case with the little workhorse Kodak C653. I purchased my original C653 in 2006 when it first came out. It traveled all over Europe with me, took ten of thousands of beautiful, crisp, clean photos, indoors, outdoors, portrait, night, sport, etc... with only one minor flaw: the battery case door never quite closed properly from the beginning, but I had my system of taping it shut and on and on and on it went. A few months back, the little door completely gave out on me and no matter which previous trick I had used failed and my little C653 was laid to rest in its case. I went searching for another Kodak EasyShare and wound up with the Kodak Z990 for a little under $400... what a glorious rip-off that turned out to be! The Z990 had pretty good reviews, but I find it useless for anything except bright, outdoor shots. After 6 months of frustration and allowing time for a "learning curve" in producing a decent photo with the Z990, I gave up. If you see me selling the Z990 here on eBay, don't buy it - it's worthless! When I came here looking for a used C653, I was ecstatic to find several for sale and even more ecstatic when I beat another bidder by a single penny to win the item at a fraction of its original cost. The C653 is a great camera that far exceeds pricier cameras with features that are not worth a tinker's damn to anyone but a professional. If you want hassle-free photography you can be proud of, look for a Kodak EasyShare C653.Read full review
My very FIRST, digital camera was a KODAK EASY SHARE C 653 camera. I photograph vintage nightwear, slips, etc. I LOVE vintage lingeerie and LOVE making the pictures and devote a LOT of time to doing it. I get lots of compliments on my photos, which makes me ONE PROUD RETIRED NURSE. After making an astounding number of photos (more than 40,000 the camera lens began to malfunction and wouldn't stay extended for long enough to make a picture. NO problem. I went and bought a Canon. BIG PROBLEM! I love to photograph nightgowns, blowing in the breeze off the end of our large porch here in the beautiful, Texas Hill Country, at Sunset. I LOVE selling them on eBay. I NEVER was able to have the open sky, clouds, huge trees in the background, look as amazing as I was able to do with the KODAK Cheapie little EASYSHARE ($129 retail). My outdoor photos suffered!.... After many trips to camera shops in Austin, Texas, begging to PLEASE show me how to duplicate the function with the Canon that so LOVED with the EASY SHARE, I began the long, and laborious search on Ebay and after several bad experiences, including one from an "INBRED,WHITETRASH" seller who emailed me with a stream of obscenity befitting a sailor, I found the MAGICAL seller, with a reasonable "BIN or BEST OFFER", and shipping rates that weren't THREE TIMES ABOVE what the USPS charges, I immediately made an offer, which was accepted. It was shipped quickly, arrived in good time, and was in "LIKE NEW" condition. I am "SAVING" it for ONLY the outdoor photos I desire as I want it to work FOREVER. Meanwhile, I watch for just the PERFECT TEXAS SUNSET, or BLUE SKY with white billowey clouds, then grab a nightgown manufactured in the 1950's that still looks like a "YOUNG GIRL" after several decades, slip it onto a mannequin, head outside with my CHERISHED, KODAK C653 EASYSHARE camera and capture magic. These older KODAK EASYSHARE CAMERAS RULE! .......And I found it on eBay! Wow! The end!Read full review
Professonal photographer I may not be however when an old digital camera gets busted you know it's time to seek "new & improved".....lol After seeking through the many, this one certainly came out the best. It was unfortunate to be used and no instruction booklet, then again I just looked it over & played with it and found it wasn't difficult to get an idea how to operate it. I my not have it long yet but the only concern may be the "AA" batteries in how many pictures will each set take, then again isn't that with all battery operated digital cameras?
Received the camera quickly & its working beautifully! A friend of mine fell in love with my old C653 camera. It was easy to use and took great pictures, so I gave it to her. I missed it and since it is no longer manufactured, I looked on Ebay and found this one. Now we're both ver happy and enjoying our Easyshare cameras.
Most older camera's are non working and just for parts, DUH! This one is operational.
