Gamers help a young man named Jack battle his way out of a living jail in the dungeon-crawling RPG Mary Skelter: Nightmares. Jack's life was full of torture and dread until he was rescued by a group called the Blood Team, who are dedicated to rescuing prisoners, slaughtering terrifying creatures known as Marchens, and finding a way out of the jail. Players leads five specially skilled Blood Maidens into turn-based battles against Marchens and free-roaming Nightmares, attacking their weak points to splatter pink blood everywhere and illuminate the dark dungeon walls.<br><br>Blood Maidens also get covered in pink blood, and gamers can choose to lick it off and activate the Blood Soul skill to recover HP and gain boosts, or they can let the blood soak in and activate Massacre Mode to transform the maidens into powerful new forms. When maidens take heavy damage or are knocked out their Corruption Gauge builds, and once it fills Blood Skelter mode is activated, with the maiden transforming into an indiscriminate killer who attacks friend and foe alike. When not in dungeons players can head to the Liberated District, an area free from Marchens and Nightmares, where gamers can assign more than 20 different jobs to maidens, use blood crystals to strengthen weapons, and expand their skill slots.
