The item was well-wrapped with foam peanuts. No issues with the care that the seller used to pack the item. However, the item arrived much later than the expected arrival date which makes me suspect that the shipping cost that was charged was too much and perhaps a cheaper shipping option was used. I don't mind getting things a little later but be upfront about it. If you want to avoid the tax, then that's fine but don't pretend that items will be received at a certain time.

This jacket is absolutely gorgeous and arrived looking great. It was also well-priced. However, the item and the box it came in reeked of cigarette smoke. I had to take this to get dry cleaned and pay $20 for ozone treatment because it was unwearable in the condition it came in. I informed the seller of this and requested a partial refund to help offset the cleaning cost, but was told that since the item was stored in a climate-controlled place, I could only get a full refund if I sent it back.

While I understand you are upset about this I feel this is less than accurate. What I said was "I am so sorry for any smell you have on the jacket. I am a non smoker and keep all my items in a climate controlled space. Due to the price paid for the item i would not be able to give you a partial refund but I am more than happy to give you a full refund upon return of the item. I am sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you."
