  • Excellent

Exactly what I expected. Great footage of the Grand Ole Opry end of sixties. I particulary liked songs done by Loretta Lynn and a very interesting and haunting performance of Dolly Parton. Charley Pride was also very good. We really get a feel for the rising stars as well as the established and the older stars. Furthermore, it is fascinating to see how these performers were raised in front of restless audiences, moving and rarely still and to watch how they captured their attention. We are not surprised that those singersq learned to withstand the test of time. It had a real festival atmosphere.

  • Lesson in Grand Old Opry history

This dvd has some antique footage of some of the superstars... before they had the vintage sounds that made them great. Early footage of Dolly Parton was interesting.. Johnny Cash was good back then.. and Loretta Lynn was good, too. Charlie Pride was enjoyable. The others.. well.. I can take or leave them. Probably should have rented it for a view before I bought it.
