Synopsis
First in a new romantic historical series from a best-selling author, set in the Colorado Territory during the 1870's., First in a romantic historical series from a bestselling author, set in the Colorado Territory during the 1870's., For Elizabeth Westbrook, establishing her career as a premier photojournalist is of utmost concern, as is finding a cure for her mysterious illness. But when one of her photographs becomes key evidence in a murder charge, her life is in peril., "This first installment in Alexander's new historical series is fast paced and emotionally charged, with beautiful descriptions of the landscape."What happens when the realization of a dream isn't what you imagined... and the secret you've spent a lifetime guarding is finally laid bare?Determined to become one of the country's premier newspaper photographers, Elizabeth Westbrook travels to the Colorado Territory to capture the grandeur of the mountains surrounding the remote town of Timber Ridge. She hopes, too, that the cool, dry air of Colorado, and its renowned hot springs, will cure the mysterious illness that threatens her career, and her life. Daniel Ranslett is a man shackled by his Confederate past, and he'll do anything to protect his land, and his solitude. When an outspoken Yankee photographer captures an image that appears key to solving a murder, putting herself in danger, Daniel is called upon to repay a debt. He's a man of his word, but repaying that debt could reveal secrets from his past he would prefer remain buried.Forced on a perilous journey together, Daniel and Elizabeth's lives intertwine in ways neither could have imagined when first they met from a distance.

I advised the seller with an explanation and a picture leaving the resolution up to them. A prompt response was forthcoming with a sincere apology and a full refund. Have saved them as a favorite and will definitely look to them for future purchases.

  • A Book you can't lay down.

This is a book you cannot lay down. The characters are described so that you feel you know what they are thinking. I would recommend anything by this author as compelling, exciting, fascinating, with a little romance thrown in. It shows God working in each of the characters' lives in real-life situations which are sometimes near-death experiences.
