Surprise Surprise, They're OK but You Get What You Pay For.
Don't expect wonders from these very cheap speakers. Most of you will be buying them to replace worn out 8" drivers in older wood bookshelf cabinets, which is a decent use for them. I'm not super picky, and my review is that they sound notably better than the wafer-thin foam speakers that came in most Japanese and Taiwanese bookshelf speakers of the 70's, but sound far, far worse than even the most basic Corporate brand-name car speakers. They are very midrangey and nasally, have only subltle bass, and pale in comparison to most good quality used Goodwill speakers from the 90's or newer from names like Sony and Pioneer. They are quite satisfactory in my sound system because I have two powered subs, but I would find them quite lacking if I was running them by themselves. If you're buying them brand new, I'll also note that they sound worst for the first couple weeks, but hang with them as they'll break in and sound better as time goes on.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
