Reviews
"Dr. Foreman has provided the general reader with a totally accessible as well as academically rigorous and theologically astute presentation and defense of a Christian perspective on bioethics. This book should become the standard bioethics textbook in Christian undergraduate education, graduate colleges, and professional schools including medicine, business, theology, and law." -Francis J. Beckwith, Ph.D. Associate Professor of Philosophy and Church-State Studies, Baylor University "Mark Foreman's book is representative of an emerging body of articulate, careful, and courageous Christian treatment of ethical issues. Foreman employs an interesting blend of ethical theories to offer a defense of a distinctly Evangelical approach to critical bioethical issues." - J. P. Moreland, Ph.D. Professor of Philosophy Talbot School of Theology, Biola University

Synopsis
Medical technology and new treatments are being discovered and promoted at a much faster rate than our ability to reflect on their ethical, social, legal, and religious implications. As a result, people are often unprepared to answer the difficult questions that confront them today: - Is abortion ever justifiable? - If a loved one is suffering, can we take action that might relieve their suffering but will hasten their death? - Should doctors be allowed to help patients who wish to end their lives? - If a child is severely impaired, can we allow her to die rather than face a life of suffering? - Should we use genetic therapy to enhance the human race? - Should we seriously consider cloning human beings? The way we answer these questions is indicative of who we are and what kind of world we want for ourselves and our children., Medical technology and new treatments are being discovered and promoted at a much faster rate than our ability to reflect on their ethical, social, legal, and religious implications. As a result, people are often unprepared to answer the difficult questions that confront them today:- Is abortion ever justifiable?- If a loved one is suffering, can we take action that might relieve their suffering but will hasten their death?- Should doctors be allowed to help patients who wish to end their lives?- If a child is severely impaired, can we allow her to die rather than face a life of suffering?- Should we use genetic therapy to enhance the human race?- Should we seriously consider cloning human beings? The way we answer these questions is indicative of who we are and what kind of world we want for ourselves and our children.

Great seller. I asked three different sellers the same question about this CD. One did not respond. One said they didn't have time to answer. Valleys_Books_andMore were the only ones to not only answer, but took the time to send a couple pics as well. I purchased immediately after hearing from them. It was a smooth transaction and the CD was in better condition than advertised. Thanks guys!!

I have been humming the most prominent tune in this series, Ashokan Farewell," for days now and it finally prompted me to order the DVDs. The package just arrived this afternoon and I will see about retrieving my old DVD player to watch it all all over again this weekend. The description said it was in "good" shape, but it hardly looks used to my untrained eye. Great price ($10). Well packaged for the journey and delivered on time. Thanks!
