    • Top favourable review

An easy read with enough twists and turns to keep the reader engaged

Although the paperback had black marks on the page edges it was was otherwise in fairly good condition. An enjoyable read, sometimes funny sometimes sad. Ove was a lonely man and ate the same meal every day. Neighbours left food on his door step but it was too 'foreign' for him. He preferred sausages and boiled potatoes. I would recommend it.

    • Life Affirming

What a brilliant book , well written brilliant translation and funny. Observations are excellent and really funny. The topic is interesting as is the living in spite of everything. It touched parts of me deeply and is incredible to make me laugh and cry in the same book. Really really great read followed by watching the Swedish sun titled film! Love it

    • Funny and poignant

I loved this book, gentle and laugh out loud….partly because there are such similarities between Ove’s outlook on life and my partners. He is enjoying it too but with from a totally different perspective!!!

    • Well worth a read.

The first few chapters were interesting and very funny, but it did drop down into a somewhat boring repetition. However it was a good read overall, and an interesting insight into a life.
