The battery takes a charge and the device works okay with it. It seems fine. The plastic pry tool is not up to the task of prying open the device; it breaks readily. I dug up a very small screwdriver to pry open the device case.

This product is a 3.7V 1300mAh 4.81Wh Li-Ion battery. It is a direct replacement for original iPod Photo and 4th Gen iPods. It also comes with two plastic pry tools to help get the job done. I purchased this product to replace the original Apple battery in my 4th Gen iPod 40G. The pry tools worked great and the battery fit perfectly. I watched a few instructional videos on YouTube to insure I used the pry tools correctly and didn’t damage my iPod or the battery. New batteries should be charge cycled ( Fully charged and fully discharged a couple of times). This battery has plenty of juice to last all day and then some. I would recommend this product and purchase again if I needed to. Hope this helps others.

Battery worked fine - tools provided are not good. Both tools broke while trying to open the ipod case. Had to use screwdrivers to open case. If you need just a battery, this item is fine. Don't depend on the tools - cheap plastic.
