Great idea BUT no longer works on Samsung Smart Tv,s.
This camera is no longer supported by Samsung because Skype (Microsoft) withdrew the app on all smart TV's. Therefore it is relegated to being a useless paperweight , can not communicate on a TV because the Skype app no longer works. Slight possibility that there is a useable fitness app on your Tv's Smart hub that it could function with, but I don't know for sure. No use to me any more.
I bought this for Skype and it worked really well. But Samsung pulled Skype so it is pretty much useless now.

This items given as a gift to my brother as per his request, so I assume all is fine with it. I have skyped with him while he was using it and it seems to give a good picture. The only issue I think is that I'm not sure if you can zoom in with the video (i.e., if your couch is a few metres from your TV, then its a very distant video.
