- m***m (4166)- Feedback left by buyer.Past yearVerified purchaseI bought these to replace a broken tuning button on a 70's vintage Kay banjo. It needed a little work with a needle file to make it fit onto the shaft but it eventually did. Also, the hole the screw seats into is tapered on the new button and squared on the original but that can probably be fixed too. As you can see in the attached pictures, they are very close in appearance. I may have gotten something nicer at a much higher price but I have no complaints with these.

These are nice enough looking buttons but, unless you modify them, they will not replace the similar looking tuner buttons that came on Five Star and other planetary-type banjo tuners. (If you have a set of needle files and some patience, you can file down the interior walls of the buttons and get them to fit, which is what I did. Alternatively, you could file the metal shafts of the original tuners.)
