I bought this item just for a walking treadmill and didn't really expect to be running on it, which I haven't tried anyway. If you want to know fairly accurately how many calories you burn and heart rate, I wouldn't rely on this machine's data. I've got a Garmin heart rate monitor which I use for accurate information. The machine seems to run well and is fairly quiet. We have used it for quite a few hours and seems okay so far.
