YES it's great
It works as it should, only problem is that bluetooth in Victron terms will not work with Windows. Bluetooth works great on my Samsung S20 android. Note that the BT signal from the Shunt is not that great unless you are within 3 to 4 mtrs. Victron do not seem to be very interested in fixing the BT problem. To increase the Android up to receive a much better signal you will need to purchase - Victron Energy VE. Direct Bluetooth Smart Dongle for BMV and MPPT Overall I am still happy with the Smart Shunt.It works as it should, only problem is that bluetooth in Victron terms will not work with Windows. Very Disappointing
I thought Victron was a premium product, I am so disappointed in this Shunt. I have read other reviews after I was having problems and others claim the same issues. I should have researched before purchase, stupid me. Bluetooth, you have to be within 1m of the shunt, minimum, sometimes you have to be within 500mm to get it to work, other times you have to reboot your phone to connect. I have $40 devices that perform way way better than this. It disconnects if you move about so you have to leave your phone beside the shunt to stay connected. The manual says the min distance is 20m! Yes, all software is up to date. Battery Time Remaining - it is all over the place, I have 600Ah of battery and one minute it tells me I have 4 days and next I have only a few hours and then 1 day and ... Trends (graphs) - you can only get a history while the shunt is connected (with Bluetooth) and as soon as it disconnects you lose the lot, so no history! What use is this? History - can I trust this? Total Charge Cycles = 0, Average Discharge = 0, Number of Full Discharges = 0. All incorrect! So I am thinking "how can I trust the other data?" Some info looks about right but other stuff is so far out it is crazy. I am not sure what the other options/brands are but I would be researching and looking further afield.

A great product that works well. I previously had a voltage monitor that only caused me worry. This shunt will show when i turn on a 1 watt light. I already had the App for my charger and the Iphone has no problems connecting.

Excellent Smartshunt from an excellent company
I had read alot of reviews on this 500a Smartshunt. I noted some people had Bluetooth connection issues. Knowing this and also knowing the excellent reputation of Victron products I went ahead and bought the item. After I installed it the problems with connecting to the app on my android phone started. Some times it would take 6 to 9 attempts before it would connect. I would also close the app and reopen, i uninstalled the app and reinstalled . I restated my phone but still no luck. it would never connect 1st time. i would sit next to the shunt and no go. Then came a firmware update. I though this would solve the problem. Problems was when it would finally connect it would crash preforming the firmware update every time.. Finally I though I would load the app on my work iPhone. OMG!!!!! ... I had read alot of reviews on this 500a Smartshunt. I noted some people had Bluetooth connection issues. Knowing this and also knowing the excellent reputation of Victron products I went ahead and bought the item. After I installed it the problems with connecting to the app on my android phone started. I'm about to buy a Samsung S21 so I'm hopping that will be fine. If not I'll continue using the iPhone. But to the item. This does what you want it to and there are numerous setting you can adjust to get a more accurate reading. I had another shunt prior but it only had 100amp max. running a 3000w inverter required a 300a+ shunt. For the price I am very happy.. Even more so more the connection problem is sorted .
