Martin Lawrence stars in this action comedy directed by Dennis Dugan (HAPPY GILMORE). The film concerns an unlikely partnership that forms between two LAPD rejects. Hank (Steve Zahn) is a straightlaced officer who is fired and imprisoned after supposedly brutalizing an innocent black man. It turns out the 'victim', Earl Montgomery (Lawrence), is actually just an angry citizen who, frustrated after being dismissed from the police academy due to his bad temper, seized the opportunity to take out his rage on the hapless Hank. But six months later, when Hank is released from prison, their paths cross once again when Nash (Eric Roberts), the man who killed Hank's partner, robs the warehouse where Earl is employed as a security guard. Angry that Nash refers to him using a racial slur, Earl attaches himself to Hank, who wants nothing to do with the trash-talker. But Earl won't back down, and the bickering pair begin to infiltrate a smuggling ring and the crooked police department that rejected them months before.

    A National Treasure

    This film is very funny and Martin Lawrence and Steve Zahn are great together in this face paced action/comedy film. Well written and just made me laugh the whole way through. I have always been a big fan of Martin Lawrence and he never disappoints especially in National Security. I have seen this film before but i wanted it on DVD and it just gets funnier everytime i watch it. Highly recommended for all the family. 5/5

    hilarious, action-packed comedy

    In the hilarious, action-packed comedy National Security, Martin Lawrence (Earl Montgomery) stars as a cocky L.A. P.D. cadet who would probably be a great cop if he weren't such a show-off. Earl's rebellious attitude gets him thrown out of the police academy and he has to settle for a job as a lowly security guard with 'National Security'. After a run-in with an uptight police officer, Hank Rafferty (Steve Zahn), Earl accuses him of harassment. Hank loses his badge, is thrown into jail, and eventually winds up working for National Security as well. Earl's overzealous behavior leads to a sophisticated smuggling operation led by Nash (Eric Roberts) and a possible police cover-up. Now everyone wants Earl and Hank dead - though they just may kill each other first!

    National Security (A must see film)

    This film was recommended by a friend of mine who raved on that is was a 'Quality film' after watching this dvd I have to admit, that for once she was right. It is action packed with comedy thrown in. Steve Zahn is so funny in this film and Martin Lawrence (an actor who I was not familiar with)work so well together.

    good for a laugh

    We watched this together as a family and had a really good laugh. we bought this DVD because we like films with Martin Lawrence and this did not disappoint. it's the sort of film that kids will watch over again so is well worth the investment. Thoroughly Recommend

    worth a watch

    Quite a good film, although if martin lawrence wasnt in it i dont think it would have been as good. I definatly reccommend watching it as i did make me laugh.
